This year WaterPro completed the construction of two four-million-gallon tanks in Corner Canyon. In 2004, we built a seven-million-gallon tank at our treatment facility in Sandy. We also have several other tanks throughout the Draper area, as well as our irrigation pond in South Mountain. Why do we need so many tanks? For health and safety. The federal and state governments have required for all public water systems to keep a certain amount of water stored for emergencies, such as fires or natural disasters. Based on projected “build-out”, WaterPro has constructed tanks so we will have sufficient water on hand in case of emergency. No system is disaster-proof, but most of WaterPro’s infrastructure is fairly new and designed according to rigorous engineering standards.
