This has been a confusing water year. As of April 12, the snowpack in our area of northern Utah was only 53% of the normal amount. Yet the previous year’s record snowpack had left groundwater levels quite high and area reservoirs filled beyond normal levels. So do we still need to conserve water?
The answer is an unqualified yes! No matter how much snow we get, we still live in a desert climate, with an increasing population. The necessity for water conservation is a part of our lives, and always will be.
WaterPro’s long-term goal is to reduce water consumption per person by 25% from the level set in 2000 to the year 2025. The good news is that we are on track to achieve this goal.
